Research

I research ways to critically reflect, evaluate and improve public engagement, outreach, impact and science communication. To that end, I collaborate closely with colleagues at the University of Cambridge, in the UK as well as internationally. My research has been published in peer-reviewed publications as well as presented at conferences in the UK and abroad.

I hold a PhD in Biology from the University of St Andrews. In it, I focused on communication in marine mammals. My degrees in Fine Art and Education added to my fascination for visual communication, and for the challenges involved in translating complex research processes and results to stakeholders and audiences. I wanted to make research - first my own, then increasingly also that of other researchers - more inclusive, diverse and inspiring. This has led me to public engagement and impact.
